A newly promoted Lieutenant (4-6 years service) can earn:

Get paid to acquire skills

The Navy believes you should be paid a good salary as you learn to be your best. The amount you receive will depend on what stage you're at and which scheme you are studying under. For example:

Recruit

$35,854 p.a.

Trainee

$40,976 - $46,098 p.a.

Undergraduate

$30,603 p.a. for the first year of study. Then increases every year to a maximum of: $41,732 p.a. for a three-year course, or $47,296 p.a. for a four-year course.

Graduate (Medical)

$59,258 p.a. (in first year) $70,439 p.a. (during internment)
